Berkeley's Climate Action Plan was designed under the premise that local governments and the communities they represent are uniquely capable of addressing the main sources of global warming emissions: the energy consumed in buildings and for transportation, and the solid waste sent to landfills.

The Climate Action Plan includes 30 specific goals that are guiding efforts to achieve Berkeley's emissions reduction target.
